Molinueux Stadium has been the home of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club since 1889 and has seen a series of redevelopments since the early 1990's, expanding the stadium to it's current capacity of 31,500.
The Project
Orbik were approached in early 2019 to overhaul the stadium's existing fluorescent emergency lighting. By providing a lighting scheme utilising products from their comprehensive LED lighting range, Orbik's aim for the project was to improve lighting levels, minimise energy usage and most importantly, provide a safe environment for staff and members of the public.
Criteria
In addition to the improvements to lighting and energy usage levels, another requirement of the lighting scheme was for all luminaires to operate from the stadium's existing 110 Volt central battery system. Therefore, 110 Volt "slave" luminaires were included in the scheme, which saw the replacement and upgrade of emergency lighting both internally and externally, including office areas, public toilets, concourse, walkways and foyer areas.
Conclusion
By identifying and responding to the specific requirements of the project, Orbik were able to develop, adapt and deliver an emergency lighting scheme that provides efficiency, visual comfort and crucially, safety.
